These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") govern your membership in The Woodlands Business Book Club (the "Book Club"), operated by Elevated Founder ("we," "us," or "our"). By purchasing a membership, checking the agreement box at checkout, or attending a Book Club meeting, you ("you," "your," or "Member") agree to these Terms. Please read them carefully. If you do not agree, please do not complete your purchase.
1. Membership & What's Included
Your membership grants you access to The Woodlands Business Book Club, a monthly membership community for business owners and founders. Membership benefits include admission to our in-person meetings, participation in the Book Club community, and access to associated resources and materials made available to members. The specific benefits included with your membership may be updated from time to time, and we will make reasonable efforts to notify members of any material changes.
2. Meeting Schedule & Location
The Book Club meets on the 2nd and 4th Thursdays of each month at Verve Workspace in The Woodlands, TX. Meeting dates, times, and locations may occasionally change due to holidays, venue availability, or other circumstances. We will provide reasonable advance notice of any changes through your registered email address or other member communication channels. Attendance is a benefit of membership but is not required, and no credit or refund is issued for meetings you choose not to attend.
3. Membership Fees & Billing
Founding Member rate. The Founding Member rate is $57.00 USD per month. Some Founding Members may receive a promotional discount off this rate; where a discount has been applied to your membership at checkout, your discounted rate is locked in on the same terms described here. Your Founding Member rate (whether standard or discounted) remains locked in for as long as your membership stays active and in good standing, and applies to Founding Members who join during the launch period. If you cancel and later rejoin, the Founding Member rate and any promotional discount may no longer be available, and current pricing will apply.
Recurring billing. Your membership is a recurring monthly subscription. By enrolling, you authorize us (and our payment processor) to charge your designated payment method the applicable monthly fee on a recurring basis until you cancel in accordance with Section 4. Your initial payment covers your August membership. Recurring monthly billing will then begin on September 1, 2026, and will recur on the 1st of each month thereafter until you cancel.
Payment method. You are responsible for keeping your payment information current. If a payment fails, we may retry the charge and/or suspend your membership benefits until payment is successfully processed. You are responsible for any fees your bank or card issuer may charge.
Price changes. We may adjust membership pricing for future billing periods. Founding Members retain their locked-in rate as described above. For all other members, we will provide at least 30 days' notice before any price increase takes effect, giving you the opportunity to cancel before the new rate applies.
4. Cancellation
You may cancel your membership at any time by emailing us at [email protected]. Because membership renews on the 1st of each month, you must submit your cancellation request by the 20th of the prior month to avoid being charged for the following month. Requests received after the 20th will take effect the month after next, and the upcoming month's charge will still apply. Cancellation stops future charges; it does not retroactively refund charges already processed. When you cancel, your membership benefits will continue through the end of your current paid billing period, after which your access will end.
5. Refunds
Membership fees are generally non-refundable, except that a new member may request a full refund within 7 days of their initial purchase by contacting us at [email protected]. After this 7-day window, fees are non-refundable. We reserve the right to consider refund requests on a case-by-case basis at our sole discretion.
6. Member Conduct
The Book Club is a professional community built on mutual respect, confidentiality, and good-faith participation. As a Member, you agree to treat other members, facilitators, and venue staff with respect; to keep sensitive information shared by other members confidential; and to refrain from using the community to spam, aggressively solicit, harass, or engage in unlawful conduct. We reserve the right to remove any Member from meetings, the community, or the membership entirely for conduct we determine, in our reasonable discretion, to be disruptive, harmful, or in violation of these Terms. Removal for a violation of this section may be made without refund.
7. Intellectual Property
All materials provided through the Book Club — including discussion guides, worksheets, session content, recordings, and other resources — are the property of Elevated Founder or its licensors and are provided for your personal, non-commercial use as a Member. You may not copy, reproduce, distribute, resell, or publicly share these materials without our prior written permission.
8. Photography & Recordings
Book Club meetings and events may be photographed or recorded for promotional and community purposes. By attending, you consent to being included in such photographs or recordings and to their use in our marketing and communications. If you prefer not to be included, please notify us in writing and we will make reasonable efforts to accommodate your request.
9. Communications
By becoming a Member, you agree to receive membership-related communications from us, including meeting reminders, community updates, and administrative notices, at the email address and/or phone number you provide. You may opt out of promotional messages at any time; however, we may still send you essential transactional messages related to your active membership and billing.
10. Disclaimer
The Book Club and its content are provided for informational and community purposes only. Participation does not constitute business, legal, financial, or professional advice, and no specific outcome or result is guaranteed. You are solely responsible for any decisions you make based on discussions or materials shared through the Book Club.
11. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Elevated Founder and its owner, employees, contractors, and facilitators will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising out of or related to your membership or participation in the Book Club. Our total liability for any claim relating to your membership will not exceed the amount you paid to us in the three months preceding the event giving rise to the claim.
12. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, notify members. Your continued membership after any changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.
13. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, without regard to its conflict-of-law principles. Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or your membership will be handled in the appropriate courts located in Montgomery County, Texas.
